Happy Year of the Rat, Kung Hei Fat Choy!
2020 The Year of the Rat
This year marks 2020 on the Solar calendar, or on the Chinese Lunar calendar the Year of the Rat, beginning on Jan 25, 2020.
The Rat represents the first year in the 12 year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac. The animals of Chinese astrology are thought by many to dictate personality traits or, in the wider scope of things, even impact world events in any year they rule.
Rats, and those born under compatible signs, can benefit from luck or good fortune during a Rat year — i.e., 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, and 2020.
Those born in a rat year will finally come into the full energy of their own sign. Normally quick-witted, industrious rats will find their hard work paying off easily, and in unexpected ways. Since rats are famous for snatching victory from the jaws of defeat they will also find 2020 a success even if disaster strikes!
In short, this will be a lucky year for the rat — with prosperity coming not only from work and business, but also from warm family ties and in the affection of close friends.
For the world at large, the Rat is the first sign of the Chinese zodiac and usually represents new beginnings. The Year of the Rat therefore may bring a new start, as many as the old ways are put aside for a younger and more optimistic outlook compared to recent years.
